Introduction to FAW-Volkswagen Engine (Dalian)
FAW-Volkswagen Engine (Dalian) Co., Ltd. （hereinafter referred to as VWED）is located on Huanghai Middle Road, Economic and Technological Development Zone, Dalian. It is a joint venture between Volkswagen Group and FAW Group. With a total investment of approximately 1.5 billion RMB, VWED is jointly established by Volkswagen Group and FAW, with Volkswagen holding 60% of the shares and FAW Group holding 40%.
The company was signed in December 2004, broke ground in May 2005, and began zero-batch production by the end of 2006.
VWED produces world-leading turbocharged direct injection gasoline engines, which excel in power performance, fuel economy, and emission standards. These engines have won numerous international engine awards since the 20th century. The workshop production lines include four major component production lines and an assembly line: cylinder block, cylinder head, crankshaft, and camshaft machining lines; cylinder head sub-assembly line, short block assembly line, and long block assembly line.
